Steering Committee

November 2, 2006

 

 

Present: Bill Brown,, Roger Clark, Rachael Dietkus, Elaine Gehrmann, Esther Patt, Carol Spindel, Shirley Stillinger, Paul Wisovaty, Marsha Woodbury

 

Absent with notice: Susan Cohen, Ben Grosser, Ward Henson, Allan Levy, Stan Levy, Gary Peters, Stephen Portnoy,

 

 

            A visitor presented the steering committee with his complaints, seeking help from the ACLU.  The steering committee determined that there were no civil liberties issues involved and referred him to other resources.

 

            The meeting was called to order by the chair, Rachael Dietkus at 8:10 p.m.  The minutes were approved as presented.

 

Announcements

 

            Carol did not have an ACLU table at the Farmers’ Market last week because of the weather; she plans to go again in the spring and welcomes anyone who wants to join her.

            Bill announced that Borders now has the nine ACLU shows on two DVD’s.

 

Reports

 

            Bill gave the treasurer’s report: assets of $2,363.02

 

Old Business

 

            Fall gathering December 3

                        A sign-up sheet for food was passed around

                        Harry will bring the wine and glasses

                        Roger cannot bring the beer, pop, and ice, but will pay for it

                        Carol will bring the paper products

 

            Annual meeting in April

Rachael has not been able to contact Susan Thistlewaite; she will contact Ed Yohnka for help and other ideas

Awards: Rachael will send out an e-mail to the steering committee

                        Nominations: Carol, Marsha, Paul


 

            There was discussion about the visit of the State’s Attorney at the December meeting.
